Who We Are

Bible-believing. Jesus-exalting.
Spirit-filled.

We believe that the local Church is something special. It is not merely a service provider, but a dynamic community of Christ-followers who are called by God to grow together in worship, fellowship, and purpose, for the advancement of God's Kingdom through the Twin Cities and to the ends of the earth.

Join Us For Worship

We gather every Sunday at 9:30AM for Worship

We meet at a home on Sundays. For the specific location of this Sunday's gathering, please email us at admin@thesummittc.com and we'll send you the details!

As a new and presently small local church family, we presently meet in a house on Sunday mornings. Folks typically come early for preparation, prayer and fellowship and stay late for fellowship, ministry and food. We worship Jesus with a few songs and some music, we preach a word from the Bible, and then we respond with prayer, reflection, musical worship, or personal ministry after the message. Throughout our gathering time, we encourage folks to follow the Holy Spirit as it pertains to orderly using spiritual gifts, such as sharing testimonies, offering praise and prayers, sharing prophetic words, and praying for supernatural healing.

Our Leaders

Dane Johansen Headshot

Dane Johansen

Elder, Sr. Pastor

Dane surrendered his life to King Jesus in the late 90s as a result of hearing the gospel again and again and again while participating in weekly church life activities (including AWANA) as a youngster. At age 12, thanks to the discipleship efforts of his youth pastor, he realized that the true Christian life is all about intentionally and passionately living our lives for the glory and mission of Jesus Christ.

In college, Dane continued to actively involve himself in the local church as well as Christian campus ministries, namely Campus Crusade for Christ and Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, learning more and more about being a disciple and making disciples. In 2023, Dane and his wife, Bethany, answered the call of God to join the Summit Church Twin Cities church planting team and family and eventually moved to the Twin Cities in the first half of 2025. In the church family, Dane currently serves as an elder and senior pastor.

Jonathan Headshot

Jonathan Bartels

Elder, Pastor

Jonathan made the decision to accept Jesus as his Lord and savior at a young age while attending a chapel service for the Bible Camp where his parents worked. He has been growing in his love for Jesus ever since and has been devoted to following God's calling on his life wherever it leads him. He met his wife Jackie through a college ministry in Grand Forks, and soon they were joined to The Summit in West Fargo!

They never expected to commute over an hour weekly in that season, however it was there that they learned what a Bible-believing, Jesus exalting, Spirit-filled, healthy local church could be and they immediately knew they were called to be a part of this body of believers. A church alive is worth the drive! Jonathan and Jackie eventually moved to be closer and served in various ministries over their three years in Fargo, and then followed God's call to lead The Summit Twin Cities Church plant team! Jonathan and his family moved down with the original team in 2023, and he continues to serve as an elder in the church!
